I have a thing about trees and forests. It’s where I feel most at home and most at peace. This is one of the reasons I love where I live so much … we are smack dab in the middle of a forest. At night, the peace from the trees around me wash the frenetic day away. I have felt a connection to trees since I could remember. It’s so interesting to find out that trees have their own internet … through fungus. For trees, they live in community where even the smallest tree is important to the life of all. The bigger more successful trees take care of the smaller ones, because even they contribute to the community. The smaller weaker trees help create the canopy that prevents the sun from scorching the earth and drying up the ground. In times of trouble, the smaller trees will help the bigger trees. Everyone is important to the community. I like that. It inspires me.
