January 2020 is winding to a close and what a great month it has been.
I had so much fun giving the webinar Getting Started in Taking the Mystery Out of Marketing. (I gave the same webinar twice, the first for Women of Color Write Too members). The two audiences were great, such different experiences and conversations even though it was the same material.
We talked about what branding is and isn’t and how it drives your content marketing, which is using content to market.
One participant said that they are usually more confused after reading marketing advice books or watching videos, but with mine, they gained clarity. This was thrilling to hear, because everything I do is in the hopes that it can help others understand the often mysterious topic of marketing. Actually, that’s pretty much the feedback was that I bring clarity to the often mysterious topic of marketing.

If you can’t attend these webinars or prefer reading , you’ll be happy to know that I’m writing a book based on my blog marketing series and Taking the Mystery Out of Marketing. The book will go into more depth than the blog posts and will have worksheets like I include in the webinars.
I’m also setting up self-study courses that will be on my website. I have other ideas of course. But they’re still in the vague stage.
My goal for 2020 is to get all of what I mentioned up and running. I also want to have an outline for a more personal project. It’s a creative nonfiction story, loosely inspired by true events.
So it’s been a great month! It’s been a great start to what I hope will be a great year.
